1. The Annunciation

God sent an angel to ask Mary to be Jesus' mother. She said, "Yes". Mary, help me to always say "Yes" to whatever God wants me to do.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

2. The Visitation

An angel told Mary that her cousin Elizabeth was going to have a baby too. She needed some help, so she went quickly to help her. Mary, help me to be quick to help others too.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

3. The Birth of Jesus

Jesus was born in a stable, and all the angels appeared to the shepherds and sang praises to Jesus. Mary, I can sing a song to Jesus too, telling him how much I love him.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

4. The Presentation

When Jesus was still a tiny baby, Mary took him to the temple to offer him to God. God blessed him, and blessed Mary. Mary, I am your little child, ask God to bless me too.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

5. Finding of Jesus in the Temple

When Jesus was 12, he went to the temple. Mary and Joseph didn't know he went there, and they looked for him for 3 days. She was really sad, because he wasn't with her. Then Mary found Jesus. Mary, pray for me that I never become separated from you or Jesus. When they went home, Jesus always did what Mary said. May I always do what my parents tell me to do.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

The 5 Sorrowful Mysteries
1. The Agony in the Garden

After the Last Supper, Jesus went out to the garden to pray. He knew that he would be killed the next day. Jesus, you were so unhappy, but God sent an angel to help you to do all that God wanted you to do. Sometimes, I'm unhappy too. Mary, ask God to send an angel to help me to always do what is right.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

2. The Scourging at the Pillar

After Jesus was arrested, he was tied up and whipped. He didn't say anything. Jesus, how could you be so quiet while you were being so badly beaten? Maybe you were praying for the men who were hurting you. Mary, help me to pray for people who hurt me too.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

3. The Crowning with Thorns

After Jesus was beaten, they made fun of him. They took pricker vines from a thorn bush, and wrapped them around his head. They called him "their king" and the thorns were "his crown". Jesus, you really are The King of the Whole World, but those men didn't understand that. Sometimes people make fun of me. Mary, help me to forgive people who tease me, help me never to be mean like that to anyone else.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

4. The Carrying of the Cross

The Roman soldiers made Jesus carry his own cross to the place where they were going to kill him. The cross was really heavy, and Jesus was very weak. He kept falling down. On the way, he saw his mother, Mary. She couldn't do anything to help him. Mary, I know you were sad when you saw Jesus, and couldn't help him. Lots of days I need help. Mary, help me when I am having a bad day.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

5. The Crucifixion

The Roman soldiers crucified Jesus on a hill called Golgatha, which means "skull place". One of the last things Jesus asked for was that God would forgive everybody for what was happening. Mary, pray for me, that I will always forgive everyone that wrongs me; that I will always love like Jesus loves.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

The 5 Glorious Mysteries
1. The Resurrection of Jesus

On the Sunday after Jesus was killed, he came back to life. He said he would, and he did. Jesus always keeps his promises. Mary, you believed everything that Jesus said, help me to always believe in him too. Help me never to lose my trust in him.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

2. Jesus Ascends into Heaven

After Jesus came back to life, he stayed with his friends for 40 days. Then while he was talking to them he started to go up into the air, right up into heaven. His friends just stared up into the sky. Then an angel came and told them that someday Jesus would come back, just the way he left. Ever since then, people have been waiting and praying for Jesus to come back. Mary, pray for me that I will be good and try to do the right thing while I wait too.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit

After Jesus went up to heaven, his friends, the apostles, were afraid. They didn't know what to do next. So with Mary, they started to pray. They prayed for 9 days. Then while they were all together praying, a loud noise like strong wind went all through the house. Then fire came and rested on their heads. This fire didn't burn them or hurt them. This fire was a symbol of the Holy Spirit that came and filled them courage, and holiness to do all that Jesus had taught them to do. They weren't afraid anymore. Mary, if I close my eyes, and ask you to take my hand and pray with me I know you will. Pray for me, that the Holy Spirit will help me in all that I do that is right.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

4. The Assumption of Mary

After Mary died, she was taken away to be buried. Because she was Jesus' mother, and had never sinned, God brought her to heaven body and soul. Mary, you are the first person that Jesus took to heaven. Stay close to me Mary, and pray for me that I will someday be in heaven too, with you and Jesus.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory Be

5. The Coronation of Mary

After Mary went to heaven, God crowned her the Queen of all Heaven. She is Queen of all the angels and saints. Mary, you are my queen too. I know that I can always go to you and ask you whatever I need. You are my queen Mary, and you are my mom. Thank you always for all your prayers for me.
Our Father, 10 Hail Mary's, Glory

The Luminous Mysteries

1. Christ’s Baptism by John in the Jordan River

When Jesus came to John to be baptized, John said, “It is you Jesus who should be baptizing me.” Jesus answered John saying, “Allow it for now, for it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”.

Although Jesus was God, he became a man like us; but he never sinned; he was “pure”. He allowed John to baptize him, to show he had become a part of the human family. When I was baptized with water I became “pure” and a part of Jesus’ family. Later when Jesus died on the cross he was “baptized” with his own blood so that everybody’s sins could be forgiven.

Mary, please pray for me everyday, that I will not sin, help me to stay pure. When I do sin, help me repent soon in the sacrament of confession so that I will become pure again.

2. The Miracle at Cana

Jesus and Mary went to a wedding in a city named Cana. At the celebration party the host ran out of wine. Mary told the waiters to do whatever Jesus told them to do. Jesus told them to fill up six big stone jars with water. Jesus changed the water into wine. This was the first miracle Jesus performed, and it revealed his glory. His disciples began to believe in him.

When Jesus performed this first miracle and revealed his glory he and Mary both knew that their lives would never be the same. This was the start of his ministry. He performed many miracles and healed many people. Later Jesus would change wine into his own blood on the night before he died. Everyday at mass the priest reminds everyone of this miracle when he changes bread and wine into Jesus’ body and blood.

Mary, pray for me that when I go to mass, I will  praise and glorify Jesus. Help me to remember how much Jesus loves me.

3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God

After John had been arrested, Jesus came to Galilee proclaiming the good news of God saying, “This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel. “

Jesus invites everyone to enter into heaven. He invites all sinners to change their lives. He asks us all to repent of our sinful ways, and believe that he came from heaven That he was  sent by God the Father to show and tell everyone of God’s boundless mercy and love. The proof of this love would be Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

Mary, pray for me. Help me to repent of all my sins every day, so that I might grow closer to Jesus.  Help me to remember that when I go to Holy Communion, I receive Jesus, the King of heaven. I receive the Kingdom of Heaven within me.

4. The Transfiguration

Jesus took Peter, James and John up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun and his clothes became white as light. And behold, Moses and Elijah were talking with him. Peter said, “Lord it is good for us to be here.”

When Peter saw Jesus glowing and shinning like the sun, he was in awe. He was seeing Jesus in all his glory. He was seeing Jesus the way he looks when he is in heaven. When  the disciples saw and heard God the Father speak, they fell on their faces and were afraid. Jesus told them to rise up and not to be afraid.

Mary pray for me and stay close to me every day. While on earth I see Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, but someday I too will die, then I will see Jesus in all his glory. Then Jesus will tell me to rise up, and not to be afraid. I will say like Peter did, “Lord it is good to be here.”

5. The Institution of the Eucharist

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and giving it to his disciples said, “This is my body.” Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which will be shed on behalf of many for the forgiveness of sins.”

These were the words that Jesus spoke to his disciples at supper the night before he died. He wanted to give himself to the whole world. He wanted to remain with us forever, even though he knew that he was going to die the next day. At mass, the priest, by the power of God, changes bread and wine into the body and blood of Jesus. Jesus is with us again, and we are with him.

Mary, pray for me to avail myself of this wonderful miracle often. Pray that when I meet Jesus in the Eucharist, I will remember the great sacrifice he made for me. Help me to appreciate him and love him as you do. I remember that you said at Cana, “Do all that he tells you to do.”  I will do what Jesus says. I will love God with my whole heart, and I will love everyone else the same as I love myself.

Let us pray
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for me that the Light of the World, which is Jesus Christ, will shine on me and illuminate me always. May the Light of Christ fill my heart and my soul. May I remain a child of the light forever.  Amen
